Town of Fairfield Holds Informational Presentations on 2015 Revaluation

The Town of Fairfield, in conjunction with the current Town-wide property revaluation for the Grand List of October 1, 2015, is holding a total of ten neighborhood informational presentations at various locations throughout Town. The information is presented in two parts.

The goal of the first set of presentations is to give property owners a clearer understanding of the steps necessary to perform a revaluation and inform property owners what they can do to ensure the Assessor’s Office information on their property is accurate and correct.

The agenda for the first set of presentations includes a discussion on the five phases of the revaluation and what will occur during each phase of the project. The topics discussed are the data collection phase and the “hows” and “whys” of each property visit, the Market Analysis phase, the Valuation phase, the Field Review phase, and finally the Hearings Phase.

The fifth presentation of the first set of informational gatherings will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Roger Ludlowe Middle School’s Auditorium, 689 Unquowa Road.

The agenda for the second set of meetings, which will begin in June 2015, will involve discussion on a review of the trend of the Town’s neighborhood’s values since the revaluation of 2010 to the current date.

Individual property values will not be discussed at these meetings. New property values will be announced during November 2015. Any property owner wishing to discuss their current values may contact the Assessor’s Office for an appointment at 203-256-3110.

The latest schedule of future meeting dates is as follows, but the schedule may be subject to change so please check the Town Meetings Calendar at (http://www.fairfieldct.org/townmeetings) for dates and times of all the neighborhood presentations.
