Fairfield Chamber to Host Economic Outlook Breakfast, Feb. 25

Fairfield, Conn. – The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual 2016 Economic Outlook Breakfast at the Delamar Hotel in Southport on Thursday morning, February 25th. 

Guest speakers will be Mr. Albert “Bert” Brenner, Senior Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager & Director of Asset Allocation Strategy of People’s United Bank, standing in for Mr. John Traynor, who was originally scheduled to speak; Mr. Joe Brennan, President and CEO, CBIA (Connecticut Business & Industry Association) and Fairfield First Selectman Mike Tetreau. Attendees will hear about the condition of the economy (National, State & Local) and what to expect with regard to the trends in the coming year.

“We are very excited to have Albert, Joe and Mike as a keynote speakers for our Business before Hours breakfast event, as there always seems to be questions about the health of our economy as we begin a new year," said Beverly A. Balaz, President of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

Albert Brenner leads the Wealth Management Division’s asset allocation strategy team – a role he has had since joining People’s United Bank in 2011. Prior to joining the Bank, he was the Executive Managing Director of Asset Allocation Parametrics, LLC, a firm he founded in 2005 to provide asset allocation guidance for non-profit endowment management. Brenner has appeared on CNBC and Fox Business. He is an honors graduate of the University of Notre Dame and holds master’s degrees from Oxford and Yale.       

Joe Brennan is the President of CBIA (Connecticut Business & Industry Association), an association that works to promote a healthy business climate, supporting economic growth and job creation in CT. Mr. Brennan has served on numerous task forces on state and local taxes, economic policy, manufacturing competitiveness and workforce readiness. Prior to joining CBIA as a staff attorney in 1988, Mr. Brennan was in a private law practice in Manchester.

First Selectman Mike Tetreau has been serving as Fairfield’s First Selectman since June 2011. Mike has served with distinction on the Board of Finance, Representative Town Meeting, Town Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Town’s Financial Planning Advisory Committee, where he spearheaded the effort to develop a five-year financial and capital plan for the Town.
