Over the initial 18-week Solarize program, which began last March, 336 Fairfield residents expressed interest in going solar. The set, discounted price for a home installation was originally offered only through July 28, 2016. However, given the overwhelming interest in the program, the Town of Fairfield Clean Energy Task Force elected to continue the campaign through October 31, 2016 so that people who might have missed the original deadline can still go solar at the discounted rate.
Residents can find out more by attending one of two upcoming free informational workshops:
Tuesday, September 27, 2016, 7 pm to 8:30 pm
Riverfield Elementary School, 1625 Mill Plain Road Tuesday, October 25, 2016, 7 pm to 8:30 pm
Fairfield Museum and History Center, 370 Beach Road
The second workshop is being offered as part of the Fairfield Museum and History Center’s “Rising Tides” exhibit, examining the coastal resilience of Fairfield and how climate change presents new challenges for the future. In addition to the two workshops which residents don’t need to sign up for in advance, those interested in solar may sign up to get a no-cost evaluation to see if their home is good for solar at www.solarizect.com/Fairfield.
