Fairfield F.D. Respond to Cement Truck Stuck Under Bridge

FAIRFIELD, CT: On Monday morning, Sept. 22, at approximately 11:46am, the Fairfield Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving a cement truck that had struck the Mill Plain Road railroad bridge. The Fire Department responded with Engine 1 and Ladder 1. Fire Chief Richard Felner also responded and was on scene.

Upon the fire department's arrival, it was determined that there were no injuries, but the truck was in a very unstable position. Firefighters, under the direction of Incident Commander Lieutenant Roger Caisse, immediately established a safe perimeter and assured there were no immediate hazards. MTA was notified to respond to the scene. The Fire Department remained on scene until approximately 2:00 PM when the truck was removed.
