The Norwalk Fire Department is now accepting applications for the position of entry level firefighter for anyone interested in taking the exam on December 5. The application period will run from September 1 to October 31.

The written test will be administered December 5. Registration and payment is required in order to take the test. No payments will be accepted the day of the test. Applicants who passed the written test will be invited to an oral interview. Applicants who rate high on the oral interview will then be required to complete the Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT).
In the weeks ahead, the Fire Department will be conducting outreach and orientation sessions in advance of the written test to help interested applicants better prepare for the test. Applicants interested in learning more can also visit the recruitment table at the Oyster Festival (next to the Fire truck and EMS tent) as well as the free Fire, Police DPW Open House on September 19 from 10-1 at 15 South Smith Street. As the testing process moves forward additional sessions will be held in advance of the Oral interviews and CPAT.
