LessThanUThink Campaign Reaches SHU

Fairfield, CT -- The LessThanUThink (LTUT) campaign was recently introduced at Sacred Heart University's Fairfield campus. LTUT is a student-run, student-generated campaign that uses humor to emphasize the negative social and physical consequences of binge drinking among students on college campuses. LTUT began in 2010 at The University of Alabama, and has since traveled to college campuses around the nation.

In addition to various student events, the implementation will feature an event with the SHU men’s hockey team at their game against Bentley University at 7 p.m. on Feb. 18 at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport. The event is intended to start a conversation about college-aged binge drinking by spotlighting LTUT’s messaging on the Jumbotron, distribution of SWAG items (including T-shirts) and engagement of the crowd with interactive activities. These activities will include a "Pour Your Own Drink" table, at which attendees can test their knowledge by pouring what they believe to be a standard-size drink.

Organizers note that college binge drinking doesn’t just affect a campus; it extends to the surrounding area. Everyone can gain insight from LTUT’s messaging.
