Join CT's Official State Groundhog on Groundhog Day

On Monday, February 2, the Lutz Children’s Museum in Manchester will open at 6:00 a.m. so visitors can join Chuckles, Connecticut's official state groundhog, as she predicts the duration of the winter weather.

Museum admission is free until 9:00 a.m., and coffee and breakfast foods will be available. The museum will remain open to until 5:00 p.m. to allow everyone to meet “Connecticut Chuckles VIII.”

The groundhog, who is now approximately three years old, was brought to the museum after she was found injured and orphaned as a baby.
