Ben & Jerry’s Asks: Hartford or New Haven?

Vermont-based ice cream maker Ben & Jerry’s, known for their wide range of inventive and creatively named flavors, asked a potentially controversial question on their website Wednesday: “When it comes to dessert, who does it better: Hartford or New Haven?”

Ben & Jerry’s presents the dilemma of a “dessert enthusiast” who lives “within striking distance of Hartford and New Haven” and asks readers to choose between the two cities in the categories of cupcakes, cookies, Italian sweets, and chocolate. The Hartford options (not all of which are in Hartford, it must be said) are A little Something Bakery, First and Last Bakery Café, Mozzicato de Pasquale Bakery, and Bridgewater Chocolate.

One might wonder why someone with a sweet tooth living between Hartford and New Haven would bother with a trip on I-91 when there’s NoRA Cupcake Company, but then one would not be playing along.

So, Connecticut dessert-lovers, what do you think?
