Update: Blizzard Warning

Update: The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for all of Connecticut effective 7:00 p.m. Monday till 1:00 a.m. Wednesday. The previous Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect. Snow accumulations could reach from 20 to 30 inches, and may result in downed tree limbs and power outages.

The National Weather Service has issues a Winter Storm Watch for an area including northern Connecticut, in effect from Monday evening to Tuesday night.

Heavy snow, strong winds, low temperatures, and "near blizzard conditions," are expected. Snow could accumulate from 12 to 24 inches.

The worst of the storm will be Monday night, stretching into Tuesday afternoon. Low visibility and heavy, blowing snow will make travel difficult. The NWS cautions that "anyone traveling in the next 24 to 36 hours should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to modify travel plans."

There is no word yet on whether the City of Hartford will issue a parking ban in advance of the storm; check www.hartford.gov for updates.
