Music at the Mansion Returns October 14

The Friends of Crawford Park are pleased to announce the next Music at the Mansion benefit concert to raise funds for the park.

Appearing on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 8PM will be Celtic Caribbean fusion band The Gaslight Tinkers. Venue location: 122 North Ridge St., Rye Brook, NY 10573. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Doors open at 7PM. Refreshments are available at the show, including beer and wine.

African, Caribbean, Funk, Reggae, and Latin grooves meet traditional fiddle music. It’s the genre-bending future of the music of the past. The Gaslight Tinkers’ blend of global rhythms creates a joyously danceable sound around a core of traditional New England old time and Celtic fiddle music, merging boundless positive energy with melody and song. Since its formation in 2012 the band has lit up the East Coast, the West Coast, and the Caribbean, headlining clubs, dances, and major festivals.

Playing what The Valley Advocate describes as “Music that consistently fizzes and pops with unexpected textures and turns,” The Gaslight Tinkers’ shows are packed with delightful surprises, elated crowds, and exuberant musicianship. Based in Brattleboro VT, the sound and energy of Audrey Knuth (fiddle, vocals), Jopey Fitzpatrick (drums), Garrett Sawyer (bass), and Peter Siegel (guitar, banjo, mandolin, vocals) are universally irresistible.

Now entering our fifth season, Music at the Mansion presents shows approximately every two months and features local and nationally-renowned performers of acoustic, folk, rock, blues, bluegrass, country, jazz, alternative, Celtic, a capella, classical, and more. All proceeds benefit beautification and maintenance of Crawford Park. Additional upcoming shows: Sat. Nov. 4, 2017 our first open mic, plus Deuce’s Child and Julie Corbalis. Sat. Jan. 20, 2018 Comedy at the Mansion featuring LoHud Comedy w/ Andy Pitz and Adam Oliensis.

Music at the Mansion is presented by Friends of Crawford Park. Crawford Park is a 36-acre preserve located in Rye Brook, NY. Originally the estate of the Crawford family, the grounds and mansion were donated to the Town of Rye in 1971. The park contains an early 20th century mansion, hundreds of mature trees, an expansive lawn, a playground, a large picnic pavilion and a sunken garden. Friends of Crawford Park was established in 1996 and is a nonprofit organization dedicated to beautification of the park grounds and preservation of the Crawfords’ legacy. Concerts take place in the historic Crawford Park mansion and happen approximately bimonthly.
