Young Singers: Gain Experience in the Westchester Youth Choirs!

Beginning this Fall, students in middle and high school interested in singing will have the opportunity to join Westchester Youth Choirs (WYC), a new musical training program for young singers. WYC's mission is simple: "to foster musical excellence and nurture young people toward becoming well-balanced, caring human beings through the learning and performing of choral music." The program will help young singers to improve their skills and gain invaluable performance and teamwork experience.

The program is headed by professional singer, conductor and teacher Elisabeth Southorn, who has taught private voice lessons for over 25 years. She has worked in churches, sings benefits to raise awareness for social justice issues, and performs solo recitals with emphasis on music by women composers. Her extensive experience and passion for music will make WYC a truly unique and successful program.

The program is split into three different groups – Westchester Girls Chorus (grades 5-8), Westchester Young Women's Chorus (grades 9-12), and Westchester Boys Chorus (ages 8-18). WYC will meet weekly at the Presbyterian Church in Mount Kisco. For more information and to register, please visit www.westchesteryouthchoirs.com.
