The Girl Scouts Get Cookin'!

Girl Scout Heart of the Hudson Troop 1155 enjoyed an amazing afternoon at Skinny Buddha, Inc. in Mount Kisco, New York! The girls are on the “It’s Your Story – Tell It!” journey, that shows them how to be “aMuse”-d. As stated by Girl Scouts Council website, “juniors learn just how many roles are open to them in the world and the possibilities those roles open for them.”

Elyce Jacobson, co-owner of Skinny Buddha, shared her love of feeding her family and clients healthy, wholesome, organic nutritious food. She was inspired to open her business, to give her an avenue to tell the story of her own weight-loss journey, which she traversed with her co-partner Shaka, who was her personal trainer at the time. The Girl Scout Juniors walked away in hand with a delicious, healthy snack of their own which they made under Elyce’s direction. More importantly, they walked away with greater appreciation of the Skinny Buddha lifestyle, which emphasizes: Feeding the entire being with healthy foods; Taking care of your mind, body and spirit; and Respecting our bodies, nature and all living things.

Our Girl Scouts are excited to bring their families to Skinny Buddha to try the Meatballs, Hummus, Mac ‘N Cheese (made with cauliflower)… and, of course, the Flax Chicken Fingers! Elyce and her daughter Alexa assured us they were tasty. If our Brown Rice Krispy Treat was any indication of the delicious food made at Skinny Buddha, we can’t wait to return for more goodness!
