Harvey’s Hicks Named HVAL All League

Senior Ricky Hicks has been named a Housatonic Valley Athletic League (HVAL) All-League player for the third year in a row.

The 5-foot-7-inch guard from Yonkers led the Cavaliers in scoring this season, averaging 17 points per game. Last month, Hicks scored his 1,000th career point, making him only the fourth player in the history of Harvey’s boys basketball program to reach that milestone. He has joined the ranks of Tyrone Foster ’93, Tre' Wilson ’11 and current Manhattan College men’s basketball coach Steve Masiello ’96 as the players who have scored 1,000 career points.

Hicks, who also led his team in assists and steals this season, scored at least 200 points in each of his four years.

The Cavaliers finished at 14-10 this season, advancing to the semifinals in the HVAL playoffs before ending their season with a loss to Forman.
