The Western New England Prep School Soccer Association (WNEPSSA) announced today that the recipient of its 2014 Sportsmanship Award is the squad of young men who played on Harvey’s varsity soccer team this fall.
The team (2-12-2) struggled to get wins this season, but the Cavaliers kept themselves in most of their games with relentless efforts on defense.
Coach Alex Morse was pleased to hear that the league acknowledged his players for “showing great character despite being on the short end of so many close games.” “It was a tough season for us,” said the coach, “but our boys never showed their frustrations on the field.” Coach Morse also acknowledged his assistants, Will Diano, Luigi Loiola and Jeff Seymour for their contributions.
