Harlem Globetrotters Take Over Subway

With no media present and a couple cameras rolling, nine Harlem Globetrotters put the “train” in training camp during an unexpected trip on the 7 train.  Led by 7-ft 4-in Stretch Middleton and female star T-Time Brawner, the world famous team decided to celebrate the end of their annual two-week training camp in New York with a trip to Times Square from Queens.  They had Sweet Georgia Brown playing on a Bluetooth speaker and basketballs flying.  The reaction was priceless.

For the first time in the team’s 89 year history, the Globetrotters will bring their games to the NYC-area during the holiday season from Saturday, Dec. 27 through Saturday, Jan. 3, including:

Saturday, Dec. 27        Brooklyn – Barclays Center (1 p.m.)
Sunday, Dec. 28          Long Island – Nassau Coliseum (2 p.m. and 7 p.m.)
Monday, Dec. 29          East Rutherford – IZOD Center (2 p.m. and 7 p.m.)
Tuesday, Dec. 30         Newark – Prudential Center (2 p.m. and 7 p.m.)
Wednesday, Dec. 31    White Plains – Westchester County Center (2 p.m.)
Friday, Jan. 2                Madison Square Garden (1 p.m.)
Saturday, Jan. 3           Madison Square Garden (12 p.m.)

The new holiday dates will be the Globetrotters’ only trip to the region during their new tour.  Traditionally playing the NYC-area in mid-February, the team moved their week in New York and North Jersey due to the NBA All-Star Weekend taking place at Madison Square Garden and Barclays Center.
