Le Jardin Du Roi - Fabulous French Food in Chappaqua

Nestled in downtown Chappaqua, Le Jardin du Roi  is a cozy and inviting restaurant that will challenge your notion of how to experience fine French cuisine. Jardin, as most of its frequent customers call it, is open for breakfast lunch and dinner every day. Finding it unusual and intriguing that Jardin is open for breakfast I decided to head on over for my first meal of the day.

The atmosphere was the complete opposite of what I expected for a French restaurant. Jardin is family friendly, warm, cozy and the food was delicious and accessible. Don’t feel like you have to dress up to eat at Jardin. It’s the perfect balance – amazing food and a casual environment, what’s better than that? The menu is vast but not overwhelming. There were breakfast, lunch and dinner options available when I arrive around noon.

Our meal consisted of some of the most delicious food I’ve ever consumed. We started with the French toast which was made with fresh baguette. It was soft on the inside a little crispy on the outside and all around amazing. It came with a side of potatoes and mushrooms that were perfectly cooked.

I can’t stress enough how great the service was. The wait staff is attentive but not intrusive. They were cordial, friendly and made the entire experience a pleasure.

Next we tried the eggs benedict on a gluten free potato cake. This may have been my favorite breakfast item. The eggs were perfectly cooked. I loved the potato cake that it sat on. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Everything was seasoned to perfection and phenomenal. Then there was the quiche! If you are a fan of quiche you’ll love this one! It had so much flavor and came with a lightly dressed side salad.

Then the lunch items made a début. We started with La Saumon Fumée a scrumptious sandwich with Smoked salmon, hard-boiled egg and tomato on a baguette with pesto and home-made mayonnaise. There’s no better way to a Jewish girl’s heart than with some lox!

Last but definitely not least we got a real surprise! A French restaurant that serves barbeque? And not just any barbeque, award winning barbeque! Fall-off-the-bone ribs were placed in front of us with the most amazing homemade barbeque sauce you will ever try. I was already stuffed but there way no way I wasn’t going to finish these and lick my fingers clean too!

Over all our experience at Jardin was a complete pleasure. We had a lovely afternoon in this inviting, welcoming, not pretentious French restaurant that is located right down town. If you haven’t been in yet I highly recommend it and if you have only been in for dinner, trust me, try the breakfast.
