Laughter Therapy at Boys & Girls Village in Milford

Peals of laughter filled the hallways of the Student Center at Boys & Girls Village.  The gymnasium was recently transformed into a stage for a healthy dose of ‘laughter therapy.’ Students and staff members were delightfully entertained by Clean Up Comedy, during their ‘Love Out Loud’ National Tour.

According to BGV’s Recreation Therapist Amy Tansley, who coordinated the visit, “much has been written about the health benefits of integrating humor into ones regimen. Laughter triggers healthy physical changes such as strengthening the immune system, boosting energy, diminishing pain, and reducing or eliminating stress.  Shared laughter also increases happiness.”
