Great Golf for a Great Cause at the 19th Annual BIC Golf Classic

2016 Annual BIC Golf Classic, Monday, July 11th, Raises Funds for Local Charitable Trust

The Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce and BIC Corporation are teaming up once again to host their 19th annual charity golf tournament, the “BIC Golf Classic”, on Monday, July 11th, at Mill River Country Club in Stratford.

The BIC Golf Classic is the one tournament golfers won’t want to miss. The day begins at 9:00am with registration and a continental breakfast. The putting contest will take place from 9:30am to 10:30am and the tournament’s shotgun start is at 11:00am. Prizes include top three foursome prizes, longest drive prizes, a closest to pin prize, door prizes and more.

After an enjoyable day of golf, participants will convene in the banquet room to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and dinner with carving stations and an open bar. There are many great prizes, including BIC's newest kayak, The BORENO, and a case of Chateau de Ferrand Grand Cru, from the Bich family vineyard in St. Emilion. The entry fee is $225 per golfer. Each participant will also receive a thank you gift.

Guests are welcome and individuals will be paired with other players. Reservations can be made by calling the Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce at 203-878-0681 or on their website, milfordct.com.

The tournament benefits the Milford Chamber of Commerce Trust Fund which funds scholarships, student mini-grants and community outreach throughout the Greater Milford area. BIC Corporation is the major tournament sponsor and Kenneth E. Brannin, then VP of production at BIC, launched the tournament in 1997 to benefit the Milford Chamber Trust student scholarships. At the time of its inception the Chamber Trust funded one $500 college scholarship. That number grew to $7,500 in year 2000 and now awards over $20,000 every year for student scholarships, with a total of $23,500 awarded in 2016.
