Light Up the Harbor 2017 Spring Gala in Milford Raises Funds to Help End Homelessness and Hunger

The Beth-El Center in Milford held its annual "Light Up the Harbor' Spring Gala fundraiser at the Milford Yacht Club on Saturday, June 3rd with over 150 people in attendance.  The evening included cocktails on the Milford Harbor, dinner, silent and live auctions and more. Net proceeds from the event will be used to directly support Beth-El's shelter, food programs, and resources that help its residents achieve independence.

"The Gala showcases the generosity of the community which has a profound impact on our ability to provide support services and advocacy to those in need," says Toni Dolan, Executive Director. 

The evening's program highlighted former Beth-El residents who conveyed their stories of their struggles with homelessness and how the Beth-El  Center provided them with resources and personal support to assist them in achieving independence. 

Attorney Matthew Woods from the Norma F. Pfriem Foundation presented the Beth-El Center with a $25,000 grant to assist shelter residents transitioning to independent living.

The  Gala planning committee included Gail Utitus, Marcia Ivers, Sindy Berkowitz, Kathy Kennedy, Shaileen Landsberg, Monique Osborn, Al May, Shawna Onukwugha, Eileen Schuman and Bernadine Venditto.
