Local Officials to Bartend at Breast Cancer Benefit in Bridgeport

Fairfield Band to Perform in Honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Local residents are invited to the American Cancer Society's Happy Hour for Hope to benefit Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Bridgeport, which will be held at Milano Wine Bar & Pizzeria in Downtown Bridgeport on Wednesday evening, October 11, 2017, from 5:30 PM to 8 PM.  Live entertainment will be provided by The Lionfish, a Fairfield-based blues & funk band formed in 2012.

Guest bartenders, at this event, will be Bridgeport City Council President Tom McCarthy; State Representative Steve Stafstrom; State Representative Christopher Rosario and Trumbull Planning & Zoning Chair Fred Garrity Jr.  These prominent local men are taking a stand, against breast cancer, to support Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Bridgeport.  The donation, of $20, per person, includes a selection of delicious Italian appetizers from Milano chef/owner Freddy Tomaj and other samplings.

Chef Freddy said, "Milano is a family restaurant and we know how cancer affects families so we are so pleased to be hosting this upcoming Happy Hour for Hope and to help raise funds that will benefit families impacted by breast cancer in Greater Bridgeport. We look forward to welcoming our regular patrons and to meeting new friends."

Attendees are asked to please wear something pink, to this festive party -- there will be prizes for the "pinkest" man, woman, and couple. There will also be a drawing, for gift certificates from local businesses, including several gift certificates for dinner at Milano.

Milano Wine Bar & Pizzeria serves mouthwatering and authentic Italian cuisine, inventive antipasti and appetizers, swell salads, house-made pasta dishes, enticing entrees -- including Chef Freddy’s signature pizza, “Grandmother’s Pizza” -- and decadent desserts, for lunch and dinner, seven days a week.

Since 1993, over 12 million people have raised over $750 million by participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign. The money, that is raised, has helped the American Cancer Society to ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone, by funding innovative breast cancer research; promoting education and risk reduction strategies; and providing patient support.
