Agencies Hosting “A Gem of a Celebration  Diamond-Themed Party on November 3

On Friday, November 3, Bridges Healthcare and the United Way of Milford are hosting a benefit event – "A Gem of a Celebration,” to honor the 60th anniversary of each organization.

The diamond- themed event will take place at Birchwoods at Oak Lane 1027 Racebrook Rd., Woodbridge, (the Tradition Golf Club), from 6:30 to 10:00 pm. A highlight of the evening will be a drawing for a pair of 1 carat diamond earrings, courtesy of Valentine’s Diamond Center. Tickets for the raffle are $50 and each raffle ticket purchase, with the exception of the winning ticket, includes a pair of cubic zirconia stud earrings. There will be open bar, signature hors d’oeuvres and food stations, plus the dynamic performance of New York, NY Dueling Pianos, providing request-driven, comedy based musical fun. Tickets for the event are $100 or two for $175 and must be purchased in advance.

"We are excited to invite the community to gather with us to celebrate 60 years of helping people," said United Way CEO Gary Johnson. "Our partnership with Bridges dates back to our earliest days in 1957 when the United Way provided start -up funding to a group of concerned citizens who recognized the need for mental health services for children in Milford."

“We hope our friends, supporters, business and program partners will join us in this festive celebration of two vital organizations that enhance the quality of life, health and well-being of our community,” said Bridges CEO Barbara DiMauro. “This party is as much about thanking the many residents, businesses and other organizations that have supported Bridges and the United Way over our long history, as it is to raise funds to sustain the critical services both organizations provide to meet the needs, respond to and prevent crises in the lives of thousands of individuals and families.”

Presenting sponsors are The Milford Bank and Spectrum Associates. Heidi Voight, NBC CT News Anchor and Milford native will serve as emcee for the event.
