Milford Young Professionals to Host Guest Speakers from PULSE, Greater New Haven Young Professionals

The newly formed Milford Young Professionals will hold their December meeting at the Milford Arts Council on Tuesday, December 9 from 6:00-7:30 PM.

Guest speakers will include Steve Gentile and Leo Connors Jr., Chair and Co-Chair of PULSE, Greater New Haven Young Professionals.  PULSE is a highly successful group of over 500 young people that engage in social and professional networking events, educational seminars and community service projects.  The group is a program of both the New Haven and the Quinnipac Chambers of Commerce.

While in an early stage of development, Milford Young Professionals plans to engage in similar networking events and community service projects in the city.  The group also hopes to establish programs that help young professionals learn from the more experienced professionals in town.

An organization like Milford Young Professionals will expand economic opportunities for both the city and young people who are seeking a network in Milford.  City of Milford Director of Economic and Community Development, Julie Nash, sees the development of young professionals as a priority in moving Milford forward. “We have an excited group of young professionals who are looking to connect with each other through shared service, knowledge and community outreach; we hope to provide them with an outlet to begin this work.”

Paige Miglio, Executive Director of the Milford Arts Council, also sees the tremendous importance of young professional development.  She explains, “An active presence of a young professionals group within the Milford community is very exciting and important to our success and growth. Embracing their energy and fresh ideas while developing their interest in community involvement ensures the vitality of our neighborhoods, schools, small businesses, and the Arts. The Milford Arts Council (MAC) looks forward to working together for the benefit of our collective future.”

All are invited to attend this exciting event where we hope to learn from PULSE’s experiences and build a strong, successful group of young professionals here in Milford.  Refreshments will be provided.
