THE MILFORD HARBOR DUCK RACE – SUNDAY, MAY 3RD

Thousands of rubber ducks to race down Milford’s Wepawaug River

The Ducks are Coming!  On Sunday, May 3rd, the annual Milford Harbor Duck Race will be held in Downtown Milford, CT.  The event will take place from 11 am – 4 pm at Fowler Pavilion, located behind the Milford Public Library and next to the Wepawaug River. The excitement begins at 11:00 with a craft fair, food, fun, entertainment, and thousands of adorable rubber ducks!  The day includes a Corporate Duck Race for businesses at 12 noon with top prizes from Stonebridge Restaurant, AMF Milford Lanes, SBC Restaurant, Eli’s Tavern and Bin 100.

Our signature Milford Harbor Duck Race takes place at 2 pm. People of all ages will flock to the river’s edge and watch a sea of yellow rubber ducks race down the falls, giving “Duck Owners” a chance to win one of 100 fabulous prizes. The race will be kicked off by a welcome from Milford Mayor Ben Blake.  At 2pm, thousands of ducks will begin their journey and race to the finish line.

Anyone can become a “Duck Owner” by purchasing Duck Raffle Certificates ($5 each) at one of many store locations including: Antelope Web, Café Atlantique, Canvas Patch, Colony Grill, Eli’s Tavern, Sweet Cupcasions, , Park Lane Deli, PC Richard’s, Rita’s Ice of Milford , Title Boxing Club, Valentine’s Diamond Center,  Off the Hook Grill ( Milford and Stratford) Whole Foods and at the event itself.  The Duck Raffle Certificates are numbered and will correspond with a number located on the bottom of each rubber race duck.  As the ducks finish their race, they will soar through a funnel one by one.  The first 100 ducks to finish the race will win their owners one of 100 raffle prizes, which include a Kissimee, Florida vacation at a private timeshare at Diamond Resorts,  an Orlando, Florida vacation, a trip for a week to  Flamingo Bay Resort in Las Vegas, and many more!  Race winners do not need to be present to win.

In addition to the cheers heard during the Duck Race, Fowler Pavilion will be alive with excitement!

Star 99.9 will be there for the day.   We will be celebrating with a live musical performances from the Sean McNamara Band and  Rumrunners, a local favorite.  There will also strolling magical performance by the Chris Lengyel, “Freak out the magician”, juggling, stilt walking, diabolo and poi with Eric Girardi from Bending Gravity and Scott Kazan, “My Balloon Guy” will be creating magical balloon figures that will amaze young and old equally.  In addition to the performances, there will be face painting, Henna tatoos, Touch a Fire truck, rides on the Roaming Railroad and our very own “Dash the Duck”.  The Kids Zone and Super Fun Inflatables will offer a full day of activities with Giant inflatable slides, an Obstacle Course, Bounce Houses, Bungee run, Dual Hoop Zone and bowling with AMF lanes.

The Craft Fair and Vendor Exhibit will be open throughout the event. Attendees will find unique items for sale in the exhibit area. Food will be available throughout the day at the food court.  Colony Grill will be offering their delicious pizza this year.  Szabos Seafood, Spuds your way, Focaccia’s , Milford Soft Serve, Milford Elks, Rita’s and Hardcore Sweet Cupcakes will also be serving fine food for all. Official Duck Race Merchandise will once again be available for sale on the day of the event with some exciting new items.
