The Connecticut Open Championship is the only CSGA Championship open to both amateurs and professionals. The tournament was first played in 1931, with Henry Ciuci winning the innagural championship at the Course at Yale. Rolling Hills Country Club has previously hosted the Connecticut Amateur Championship in 2011, the Russell C. Palmer Cup in 2010, the Connecticut Senior Amateur in 2005 and the Connecticut Women's Open in 2002.
In 2014, Frank Bensel of Fairfield, Conn. fired a final round 66 to finish at seven under-par and a two stroke victory at the 80th Connecticut Open Championship at Rolling Hills Country Club.
The 2015 Connecticut Open will mark the second time that The Patterson Club has played host to this prestigious event. The club has previously hosted the Connecticut Open in 1996, the Connecticut Amateur in 1991 and 2004, and the Connecticut Senior Amateur in 1989.
