Milford Public Library Hosts GPS Boating Seminar

Sure, GPS can get you where you need to go, but did you know you can use it to steer your boat accurately? Enhance your boating experience by getting the most out of today’s feature-packed GPS devices. Milford Public Library is pleased to host a GPS boating seminar on Saturday, September 12 at 10 AM.

Learn how to store and use waypoints, build and execute routes, and monitor steering. Bruce Ross, from the Milford Power and Sail Squadron, will show you what GPS does, what the buttons do and the screens show. He will also give you tips on navigating a safe course.

You can also learn how to connect your GPS to your VHF marine radio, which opens up a new world of digital hailing and distress signaling. The seminar materials include a copy of McGraw-Hill Captain’s Quick Guide Using GPS to take aboard.

The workshop is free and all are welcome to attend. It is held at the Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Ave., Milford.
