Pantochino presents Hairspray Master Class led by Broadway's Marissa Perry on December 29

Award-winning Pantochino Productions Inc. will present Broadway’s Marissa Perry leading the first in a series of Master Classes on Thursday, December 29 at 1pm at the Center for the Arts in Downtown Milford. Perry starred as Tracy Turnblad in the original Broadway production of “Hairspray.”

In Marissa’s Hairspray Master Class, students will be taken through dance combinations from the Broadway musical Hairspray! Thanks to Jerry Mitchell and his high-energy choreography, this class is a one of a kind experience for students. “Its the right kind of challenge for students at any level of dance experience,” explains Perry. “Hairspray choreography is all about using your body to express your feelings and character. This class is a multipurpose learning tool,” she added.  Students will learn how to use their body to express emotion, how to express their specific character through their body, how to correctly move their body in accordance with the specific time period (1962) and how to throw “dance technique” out the window when need be. Throughout the class, Marissa promises to share meaningful and funny backstage stories of her Broadway experiences in Hairspray (and Sister Act).

Pantochino Productions Inc. is Milford’s professional, not-for-profit theatre company for family audiences. The Master Class series is new to the company led by Bert Bernadi and Jimmy Johansmeyer.
