Hidden Abilities of Your Cell Phone on February 28 at Milford Public Library

Learn About Hidden Abilities of Your cell phone at Milford Public Library on February 28

Ever wonder if your phone has any hidden abilities that might be useful? Sure, we use our phones to stay connected and to play games, but they’re also extremely powerful computers with immense sensing capabilities thanks to the very small, very cheap sensor technology at our disposal today. Much like the fabled tricorder from Star Trek, our phones are capable of some astounding sensing, computing, and recording tasks, like returning the solution to a calculus equation, or navigating a telephone call tree until a human gets on the line. Or how about real time language translation?

That's straight out of Trek too, they called it the universal translator. From analyzing the ambient audio frequency spectrum to real time earthquake alerts and more, the phones in our pockets are much more powerful than most people realize. Join the discussion to discover what hidden powers lurk inside your smart phone.

We’ll be meeting on February 28 at 11am at Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Ave. in Milford. All are welcome.
