Welcome to One City One Story, a program encouraging all residents to read the same book, fostering dialogue and building community one page at a time.

The Milford Public Library and the Milford Public Schools have launched a new community reads program, One City One Story. This initiative will encourage all residents, preschool to seniors,  to read specific books linked by a common theme to encourage dialogue and foster a greater sense of community.

This year's middle grade and up title will be Wonder by R.J. Palacio; for our youngest readers the title is a picture book called The Invisible Boy by Trudy Ludwig.

While Wonder was originally written as a middle grade read, its themes of acceptance and encouraging kindness have bridged generations and led Wonder to become an adult book group favorite.

We will be exploring  the "wonder of Wonder" with community conversations and programs to be held in May, coinciding with the schools recognition of National Screen Free Week.  This site will be updated to include programs held throughout the city, so check back often for newly added information.
