Pantochino Wins 11 Broadway World Connecticut Awards

Pantochino Productions Inc., a professional non profit theatre company for family audiences in Downtown Milford has been recognized nationally, receiving eleven BroadwayWorld Awards for its outstanding work in the Connecticut region including Best Professional Theatre Company.

BroadwayWorld is an award-winning website for Broadway, theatre and live entertainment offering breaking news, reviews, features, ticket offers and more.It is the undisputed leader and most comprehensive resource for everything Broadway and live theatre in the world. This year, more than 60 regions participated in the annual awards. In Connecticut, Pantochino Productions received top vote in eleven categories.
 
In addition to receiving the honor as Best Professional Theatre Company, the winners included Jimmy Johansmeyer (West Haven) Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his work in “The Great Cinnamon Bear Christmas Radio Show,” Rachael Dugas (Milford), Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her work in “Porkenstein,” Dani Corrigan (Fairfield) Best Young Actress for her work in “The Great Cinnamon Bear Christmas Radio Show,” Carter Popkin (Branford) Best Young Actor for his work in “The Great Cinnamon Bear Christmas Radio Show,” Bert Bernardi (West Haven) Best Connecticut Playwright for “Pirate Schmirate, Bert Bernardi & Justin Rugg (West Haven)  and Best Original/New Work for “Pirate Schmirate.” In the technical categories, winners included Timothy Cook (NJ) Best Lighting Design for “Porkenstein,” Nathaniel Dobas (Hamden) Best Sound Design for “The Great Cinnamon Bear Christmas Radio Show,” Von Del Mar (NY) Best Set Design for “Pirate Schmirate,” and Jimmy Johansmeyer for Best Costume Design, “Pirate Schmirate.”
 
Pantochino Productions Inc. is now in it’s fourth season, producing 100% original musical theatre for family audiences. The company presents its shows at the Milford Arts Council Center for the Arts in Downtown Milford and also has studio space in the former St. Ann School. In addition to it’s original musical theatre, the company also tours its shows to area schools and venues, hosts After School Drama Clubs in schools throughout the region, presents its Teen Theatre program and also is know for its outstanding Summer Theatre Camps.
