Pantochino Announces Summer Theatre Camps at Milford Art Council's Center for the Arts

Pantochino Productions Inc., in association with the Milford Arts Council has announced registration for it’s 2018 Summer Theatre Camp season. This year’s program features four one-week sessions for ages eight to thirteen and a summer edition of Pantochino’s Teen Theatre program.

Now in it’s seventh year, the Summer Theatre Camp series is under the direction of Pantochino’s Bert Bernardi, Jimmy Johansmeyer and Justin Rugg. “Our camps sell out every year—They remain popular because the kids have so much fun,” said Bernardi. “They respond to the unique material and enjoy the bright, exciting atmosphere we create for them,” he added. “We’re not educators, we’re not college students,” Johansmeyer explained. “We are working professionals who love what we do and sharing our passion with young people.”

The camp schedule kicks off in July with four original musicals by Bernardi and Rugg. Session One (July 9-13) features the original musical “Beauty & The Beast (Sort Of).” Session Two (July 16-20) will bring a premiere musical, “The Alice in Wonderland Show” to the stage. For Session Three (July 23-27), “Sharkalicious!” is the exciting feature. Session Four (July 30-August 3) marks the return of Pantochino’s popular musical spoof “Charlie & the Chocolate Factory Outlet Store” The hours for these five-day sessions are 9am to 3pm and take place at the Arts Council’s Center for the Arts in Downtown Milford.

Pantochino’s Summer Teen Theatre will present hit Broadway musical by Mel Brooks, “Young Frankenstein” in a two-week camp beginning July 30 with performances August 10-12. This is a unique experience for young actors age twelve to eighteen who will experience concentrated and intense rehearsals in the fun and supportive atmosphere created by Pantochino. This production is made possible through the Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation.

Each session is limited to 30 participants, and registration is processed on a first come first served basis. “Our tuition fee is affordable and unlike other programs there are no hidden costs, no registration fees, advertising obligations or additional costs,” said Bernadi. “We offer discounted rates for those attending multiple weeks or for those attending with siblings,” he added. As these camps fill up quickly, it is recommended those interested should register as soon as possible. Full details on the camps, the company and registration forms can be found at www.pantochino.com.
