YA Authors MacColl and Turetsky Visit the Downtown Fairfield University Bookstore on Dec. 6

Fairfield University Bookstore will welcome two young adult authors on Saturday, Dec. 6: Michaela MacColl from 1 – 3 p.m. and Bianca Turetsky from 3 – 5 p.m.

McColl’s award-winning novels of romance and intrigue include a series featuring famous women from history as teens—the Bronte sisters, Emily Dickinson, Queen Victoria, and more. Her new series, Hidden Histories, explores lesser-known events in American history. The first, “Rory’s Promise” (released in September), is based on a true story of Irish-American orphans sent from New York to Arizona in 1904. The dramatic and action-packed novel tells the story of 12-year old orphan Rory Fitzpatrick, who is devastated to discover her younger sister Violet will be send to the Arizona Territory to be adopted.

Bianca Turetsky is the author of the Time Traveling Fashionista Series. The latest, “Cleopatra, Queen of the Nile” follows Louise Lambert, who tries on a lavender Grecian gown at the mysterious Traveling Fashionista Vintage Sale and finds herself whisked back through time. Her first stop is to the legendary Hollywood film set of “Cleopatra,” where a pearl necklace that dates back to 51 BC becomes a conduit to ancient Alexandria, poisonous snakes, dangerous enemies, and treachery.
