Milford Chamber Trust Announces 2015 Scholarships

23 Different Scholarships to be Awarded

As part of their mission to foster education, the Milford Chamber of Commerce Trust is offering area students twenty-three scholarships in 2015. The criteria vary for each award, with some need based and some academically based.  There are also scholarships for all fields of study, some specifically for business, medical related fields, science, engineering and culinary.

Two new scholarships this year are the Milford Arts Council Trust Scholarship, and the Connecticut Property Appraisers Scholarship, in Memory of Maren Sanchez. 

“We are delighted to announce this scholarship, which supports students looking to further their education in the Arts,” says Diana G. Nytko, President of Connecticut Property Appraisers, “Providing this opportunity in memory of Maren Sanchez is a befitting way to honor her memory.”

“Offering this new scholarship helps us to inspire the best young minds around Milford to dream big,” said Nancy Smith of the Milford Arts Council.

Applicants may visit the Milford Chamber of Commerce’s website http://www.milfordct.com/ under “What’s New” for complete descriptions and criteria for all scholarships, as well as a printable application form. Students must submit applications to their school guidance offices no later than April 1, 2015.  The twenty-three scholarships offered by the Milford Chamber Trust in 2015 are:

2.       Berchem, Moses & Devlin Scholarship - $1,000
3.       Frederick A. DeLuca/SUBWAY Scholarship (1 of 2) - $1,000
4.       Frederick A. DeLuca/SUBWAY Scholarship (2 of 2) - $1,000
5.       Kingdom Life Christian Church Scholarship - $1,000
6.       Jon Lorensen's Acura of Milford Scholarship - $1,000
7.       The University of Bridgeport Scholarship - $1,000
8.       The McInnis Companies Scholarship #1 - $500
9.       The McInnis Companies Scholarship #2 - $500
10.   R. J. Reuter Business Success Scholarship - $500
11.   Milford Lions Club Scholarship - $500
12.   Milford Chamber of Commerce Health & Wellness Council Scholarship - $1,000
13.   The Milford Arts Council Trust Scholarship - $500
14.   Connecticut Property Appraisers Scholarship in Memory of Maren Sanchez - $500
15.   Daniel Meisenheimer, Jr. Memorial Scholarship - $2,500
16.   The Marcel Bich Memorial Scholarship - $1,000
17.   Stonebridge Restaurant Scholarship - $1,000
18.   Golden Hands Scholarship - (1 of 2) - $500
19.   Golden Hands Scholarship - (2 of 2) - $500
20.   Humanitarian Scholarship - $500
