Milford Heroes of the Month: Milford Indians Boys High School Hockey Team

The Milford Prevention Council is proud to announce our March Heroes of the Month: The Milford Indians Boys High School hockey team, a co-op team, comprised of student athletes from Jonathan Law, Joseph A. Foran, and Platt Tech High Schools!

Each year the team chooses a nonprofit organization to donate earnings from their “Shoot the Puck” activity. This year they have selected Milford Prevention Council as the lucky recipient, and we are truly honored!

The Shoot the Puck activity takes places between the 2nd and 3rd periods of each of the Indian’s home games.  Two lucky participants are chosen to go on the ice and shoot the puck towards the goal. They receive a complimentary t-shirt, and if one of their 2 shot attempts go in the goal, they win a gift certificate from Ferguson’s Center Ice.

In year’s past, the team has donated their earnings to Coaches Against Cancer and the Maren Sanchez Scholarship Fund.  A huge thanks to the Milford Indians!
