Milford Business Owner Nominated for Prestigious Beauty Award
Downtown Milford has a pretty powerful beauty influencer in its midst. Camille Plourde, owner of Hair By Camille in Milford, CT, was a top finalist in an international hair styling competition that draws entries from around the world. The #ONESHOT Hair Awards, presented by BehindTheChair.com, is the largest hair awards program in the world. This year’s contest received over 215,000 entries, and Ms. Plourde was nominated one of the Top 25 in her category.
With social media now a dominant means of communication, this competition required stylists to use Instagram as their vehicle of submission. Ms. Plourde, who currently has over 22K followers on the social network, was nominated out of thousands in the “Hair Painting” category, and was brought to Austen, TX, this past August to appear with other finalists. Her technique, the results of which can be seen on her Instagram account @brushedwithlove, quickly gained attention and admiration by both stylists and beauty enthusiasts alike.

Camille Plourde, owner of Hair by Camille, left Fairfield County after thirteen years as a master stylist and colorist, to start her own endeavor in charming Downtown Milford. Her education and credentials span her career and continue to mount with her exponential following. Camille is a Sunlights Balayage educator, trained by Candy Shaw herself, the founder of Sunlights Balayage; Camille has attended numerous advanced straight razor classes at Arrojo Academy in NYC.
