Interior Gardens presented by Olde Ripton Garden Club on Nov. 6 in Shelton

Perk up your home with plants!

The Olde Ripton Garden Club has arranged for a wonderful program on interior gardening and house plants.  Marie Lipski of Southington, CT, will present a program entitled “Interior Gardens”. She will discuss topics such as pests, potting soil, and propagation. There will be talk about bringing in tender green friends, pathogens, lighting, watering, fertilizers, and how this can change with each season.

Frost need not stop your gardening, you can embrace your inner green spirit year-round! Houseplants carry our gardening interests thru the cold months – year after year, our plants seem like familiar friends.

Marie is a certified advanced master gardener, certified master naturalist, and master conservationist.

The Olde Ripton Garden Club will present Ms. Lipski at their Monday, Nov. 6 meeting.  Her program, “Interior Gardens,” is open to the public and will be held at Plumb Memorial Library at 10 am in the Community Room (downstairs), 65 Wooster Street, Shelton.  Non-member fee is $5 and refreshments will be served.

A member drive is currently underway for the Club.  The Olde Ripton Garden Club is open for new members to join at any level of gardening – from beginner to master gardener! Projects include working on community gardens around town, holiday decorating at public buildings in Shelton, a garden therapy program with seniors, and youth gardening in Shelton schools.
