Milford Library Announces Summer Hours

Happy summer! Milford Library hours are changing!

Effective July 3, ALL departments will be open:

  • Monday:10:00am-5:00pm
  • Tuesday-Thursday: 10:00am-8:30pm
  • Friday: 1:00pm-5:00pm
  • Saturday: 10:00am-5:00pm

As many have noted, deliverIT, the statewide delivery system  that transports materials between libraries, has had some severe backlogs and delivery delays. The issue has been compounded by cuts to the State Library budget. To help rectify the issues, the system  will go on temporary shutdown from June 19th - July 17th. The purpose is to clear out any backlog of items in the system, retrain drivers and assess and reconfigure delivery routes.

During the shutdown, library patrons will be able to place holds ONLY if the pickup location is the library that owns the item(s). Items will not be shipped.

Current holds on items from other libraries will be “frozen” and will be filled once the system is back up.  You will not lose your place in the holds queue.

Once service is restored, to make sure all libraries across Connecticut receive fair and equitable delivery services, the Connecticut State Library (CSL) is retooling deliverIT. The new deliverIT will provide delivery service to every library across the state up to five days a week. Each library will be able to receive up to three bins of items per day (approximately 75 books, DVDs, magazines, etc.).

During the shutdown, all items will be returned to their home libraries. CSL and library staff will be trained on the new service. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the State Library by using the online form here. Milford Library staff would also be happy to answer any questions you may have.

As always, we will also be hosting craft and technology programs, story times, anime club and more! Check out our calendar for a full description of library programs.

Detailed information on all our programs can be found on our website, milfordlibrary.org.
