MCCA Opens New Outpatient Clinic for Addiction Treatment in Bridgeport

MCCA (Midwestern Connecticut Council of Alcoholism) is proud to announce the opening of their newest outpatient addiction treatment facility in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The clinic, located at the 140 John Street, will provide treatment for alcohol and drug addiction, as well as mental health disorders.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) is one of the primary services offered at this new facility for people needing treatment for alcohol and drug addiction. IOP is an excellent option for those who require intensive therapy but are unable to put their life on hold and enter into an inpatient program. Counseling and group support is one of the most effective ways to treat addiction. The Bridgeport facility will also offer individual and group therapy, as well as groups for early intervention, relapse prevention, and anger management. Treatment for mental health disorders, including psychiatric reviews for medication management, assessments, and co-occurring disorders will be available.

Program Director, Victor Pittman brings a wealth of experience to MCCA’s Bridgeport facility. Pittman said, "Our goal is to increase access for all who are seeking quality recovery services.” He added, “I believe MCCA’s downtown Bridgeport outpatient clinic will support this goal for many in the region.” Pittman was previously the director of MCCA’s New Haven outpatient clinic.

MCCA has earned a solid reputation for offering high-quality, evidence-based treatment for addiction and has experienced staff who are licensed and certified to treat addiction and co-occurring disorders. John D’Eramo, MCCA’s President and CEO said, “We are pleased to be expanding our services to the City of Bridgeport and the surrounding communities at a time when the need for addiction treatment is on the rise.” During the past year, MCCA served over 10,000 clients.

In addition to their new Bridgeport clinic, MCCA has outpatient clinics in Danbury, New Milford, Waterbury, Torrington, Derby, and New Haven. Inpatient treatment, medically monitored detoxification and transitional housing are available at their main campus in Danbury. MCCA also has two long-term residential treatment facilities: Trinity Glen Women’s Program in Kent and Trinity Glen Men’s Program in Sharon. MCCA also offers a family support program, How to Cope in Danbury.
