Milford Police to Participate in Safety Campaign

The Milford Police Department will be participating in wave 48 of the Connecticut Department of Transportation High Visibility Seatbelt/Occupant Protection statewide campaign, which will begin on May 18, 2015 and continue through May 31, 2015.

With the Memorial Day weekend upon us, Connecticut’s law enforcement agenciesintend to promote safe driving and increase the protection of all motorists. Law enforcement officials are out on Connecticut’s roads enforcing the state occupancy laws and issuing citations to those who are unbuckled.

Milford Police will be continuing their high visibility enforcement effortsregarding children restrained in child safety seats and seat belt usage among vehicle occupants. Police efforts will include safety checkpoints in various locations of the city, as well as educational material being available through the department’s Crime Prevention Unit.
