Milford PD Make Arrest in Reckless Driving Incident

On June 19, 2016, Milford Police stopped a motor vehicle for traveling too fast and going through a red light in the area of Old Gate Lane and Woodmont Road. The Officers initiated contact with the driver, Frank Bontempo (W/M, 25) 259 Currier Drive, Orange. After initially stopping and speaking with officers, Bontempo fled the scene in his vehicle. Bontempo’s vehicle eventually came to a stop when he struck a police vehicle.

While attempting to place Bontempo under arrest, he struck an officer in the face with a closed fist. The officer was not injured, and Bontempo was transported to the hospital for evaluation from the accident.

Bontempo is charged with:

Reckless Driving

Failure to Obey Traffic Signal

Engaging Police in Pursuit

Failure to have Vehicle Insurance

Breach of Peace 2nd

Assault on a Police Officer

Interfering with Arrest

Bontempo was held on $15,000 bond.
