On Saturday, May 20, 2017, at approximately 12:15pm Milford Police received a complaint that a male had sent threatening text messages to a female in an attempt to gain money from the victim.
The text messages were sent in a harassing manner, in which a countdown was initiated for the victim to send the male money or consequences would be had. The male repeatedly threatened harm on the female if she did not comply. The male was identified as Matthew Mannix (W/M, 29) 300 Riversville Road, Greenwich. Mannix was taken into custody later that day by Milford Police.
Mannix is charged with the following: Criminal Attempt/ Larceny 1st by extortion/Threatening 2nd Harassment 2nd
Mannix was held on $10,000 bond to appear in Milford Court on May 22, 2017.
