The 67th Annual May Fair

The May Fair takes place on Friday, May 6th from 5-9:30pm (Friday Night Lights) and on Saturday, May 7th from 9am-7pm

“Friday Night Lights” will serve as a prelude to the main event on Saturday, and will hold a special appeal for young adults and kids, offering all of the carnival rides, music, and special food concessions. St. Mark’s will sell an “unlimited rides” wristband for $25 exclusively for “Friday Night Lights” attendees.

"We are very excited to hold the Friday Night Lights program for the second year in a row. The town of New Canaan has been extremely supportive of St. Mark's and our May Fair event for so many years," said May Fair Co-Chair Mark Thorsheim.

On Saturday, May 7, May Fair will run from 9AM-7PM with its full array of rides, games, entertainment, and White Elephant and book sales. The enormous May Fair White Elephant Tag Sale (9AM-4PM) features thousands of items for sale including jewelry, furniture, rugs, china, crystal, art, collectibles, lamps, kitchenware, linens, electronics, toys, games, sporting goods, and lawn furniture. Delicious foods will be available for purchase including grilled chicken, smoked brisket, pulled pork, corn on the cob, hotdogs and hamburgers, pizza, ice cream, and many other treats including May Fair’s famous strawberry shortcake. St. Mark’s BBQ ministry, “The Holy Smokers”, prepare for May Fair long in advance, and stay up for days to smoke the brisket and pulled pork sold at the fair, using their trademark St. Mark’s Bell Tower BBQ Sauce. The Food Court will be open from 10:30AM-5:00PM, or until supplies run out.

Pivot Ministries Men’s Choir will be performing inspirational gospel music, and local performers including the New Canaan High School Jazz Band, and Cluster Funk, are scheduled to perform.

A “Go Green” tent will part of an effort by St. Mark’s to promote a healthy earth. A special bike parking area will be available to encourage guest to “go green” and ride to May Fair instead of driving cars and hunting for a parking spot. Please bring your own lock. The Get-About Shuttle will provide service from the railroad station parking lot and from the St. Aloysius parking lot.

By attending May Fair, the public supports the mission of St. Mark’s, and helps to fund generous outreach donations to charitable organizations locally, nationally, and internationally.
