Falconer Christine Peyreigne Brings Live Birds of Prey to New Canaan Library

New Canaan Library is pleased to welcome Christine Peyreigne, a licensed falconer, wildlife rehabilitation, and educator, who will introduce the audience to the fascinating world of birds of prey. The event will take place on Saturday, September 17 at 2pm. in the Library's parking lot. Please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.

Christine will present an interactive, educational, and exciting program featuring live birds of prey and reptiles. During this hour-long program, parents, children, and teens will observe (and possibly even touch!) different species of hawks, owls, and reptiles that Christine trains and rehabilitates. Participants should meet by the pergola at the Library's entrance by the parking lot. The entirety of the  program will take place outdoors; please dress accordingly.

Christine Peyreigne, a federally licensed falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, and educator, has been working with wildlife since very young.  At 19 years old, Christine owns her own non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to helping wildlife. Christine’s Critters is located in Weston CT, where 6 non-releasable birds or prey, 40 reptiles, 3 parrots, a turkey, and 4 Siberian huskies call home. During the summer, Christine can have up to 30 additional birds of prey that she is helping rehabilitate back to the wild after sustaining injuries.
