In conjunction with New Canaan Library's upcoming 10th Anniversary Literary Luncheon featuring Amor Towels, speaking on his bestselling book A Gentleman in Moscow, the Library offers a unique lecture on the famous House of Faberge and its special connection to the Russian Imperial Family. Carl Faberge is most well known for his series of 50 Imperial Easter Eggs crafted for the wives of the last two tsars of Russia, Alexander III and Nicholas II. Considered the absolute pinnacle of Faberge’s art, these incredible works of art can fetch many millions at auction. Thousands of objects were produced by the House of Faberge for European Royalty, Eastern monarchs and American elite. Dr. Hapsburg will present an in-depth talk about the special relationship between Faberge and the Russian Imperial Family, as well as other clients of Faberge's, and the works he produced.
