Carl Faberge is most well known for his series of 50 Imperial Easter Eggs crafted for the wives of the last two tsars of Russia, Alexander III and Nicholas II. Considered the absolute pinnacle of  Faberge’s art, these incredible works of art can fetch many millions at auction. Thousands of objects were produced by the House of Faberge for European Royalty, Eastern monarchs and American elite. Dr. Hapsburg will present an in-depth talk about the special relationship between Faberge and the Russian Imperial Family, as well as other clients of Faberge's, and the works he produced.

He was Chairman of Christie’s Switzerland and Christie’s Europe from the late 1960s through the mid-1980s, and of Habsburg International Auctions from 1987 to 1991. Dr. Hapsburg lectured for 10 years at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and curated traveling Faberge exhibits for several museums and cultural institutions. He is the Curatorial Director at the Faberge Company, where he acts as historian, lecturer, expert for vintage pieces and detecting forgeries.
