Having previously been out of town, we were super excited to be able to attend New Canaan's 35th Family Fourth of July Party at Waveny Park. We purchased our pass to support the event (this is independently funded so depends upon residents supporting it) It was only $35 for a family pass. Not much considering what was provided. The police also need to be paid for working on a holiday.
We had watched the Norwalk display the night before and to be honest wondered if this could compete. From the moment we arrived the park was buzzing with people - and what an incredible atmosphere. From Garelick and Herbs catering, to bouncy houses and the New Canaan Town Band - a real celebration. Best of all were the fireworks. WOW!
With thousands and thousands of people in attendance, I think next year everyone should pay a nominal entrance fee.
New Canaan sure knows how to party. Roll on July 4th 2016!
