Faxon Law Fairfield Road Races

Today I completed my first ever half marathon and it was great! I may not ever be able to complete a whole marathon but a half still pushes you. My friend has done full and halves but was impressed by the organization. There were a few hills but running alongside beautiful houses, seeing the view of the bay and having so many residents cheer you on I can see it could be infectious.

My time wasn't too shabby at 2hours and 10 minutes and boy it was hot but lots of people were at hand to provide water and energy drinks. The last mile was HELL. My friend Neil kept me going with music and my stubborn, determined nature.

Bravo to the organizers and all the bands who played along the way (we counted 5 different groups) The fireman who kept us cool and everyone else for encouraging us to finish.

Next year for sure and maybe a Fall run too! http://www.fairfieldhalf.org
