High wind warnings & lots of rain in the forecast for Connecticut

 

The National Weather Service has issued high wind warnings for coastal Connecticut until 1:00 AM Tuesday morning. Wind advisories have been issued for the rest of southern Connecticut for the same time period.  A coastal flood advisory is in effect for tomorrow evening's high tide in western Long Island Sound and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for Litchfield and Hartford Counties for late Monday afternoon and Monday night.

Tonight - Rain likely, possibly mixed with sleet before 7pm, then rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 37. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Windy, with a northeast wind 24 to 32 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no sleet accumulation expected.

Tuesday - Rain likely, mainly before 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 41. Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. 

Tuesday Night - A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly before 10pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 34. Northwest wind 9 to 15 mph. 

Wednesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 47. West wind around 9 mph. 
Wednesday Night - Partly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 43.
Thursday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 47.
Thursday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 31.
Friday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 40.
Friday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.
Saturday - Partly sunny, with a high near 36.
Saturday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 24.
Sunday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 36.
Sunday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.
