THE summer party of the year takes place in New Canaan, Connecticut on Saturday, June 10th from 12-4pm and this year it's to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Glass House.
The Glass House is a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and this event is generously supported by Crozier Fine Arts. This extraordinary special day features a delicious picnic, Taittinger Champagne, lawn games, live music, and a spectacular auction powered by Paddle8.
This is the only occasion each year, where guests - dressed in summer chic - will be given the freedom to stroll around the 49-acre estate and picnic where they choose. Experience the breathtaking campus and party with friends, just as Philip Johnson used to. The event will feature the world premiere of The Metamorphoses, a performance installation conceived by Jonah Bokaer Choreography. Bokaer performed with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company at the museum’s opening celebration in 2007.
Two new exhibitions will be on show: Julian Schnabel: “Paintings that I hope Philip and David would like” an intimate survey showcasing Julian Schnabel’s prolific painting career, and Robert Indiana: One Through Zero sculpture installation.

Robert Indiana reflected on his life in the 1960s—the period he called his “own American Dream”—in a series of Decade Autoportrait paintings, which he created from 1972 through 1977. The artist subsequently, 2001 through 2014, translated these seminal paintings into a wonderful and beautifully executed series of ten Decade Autoportrait serigraphs. They were released by publisher, G&S Editions that were established expressly for Robert Indiana and realized by master printer Robert Blanton at his atelier Brand X Editions in New York. This series is certainly one of the most important within Indiana’s oeuvre.
