We posted a competition for our HamletHub readers to win x2 tickets to the 5th Annual Connecticut Chefs Challenge on Friday, September 18th between 7-10pm. Little did we know how popular it would be! Thank you for all your entires and congratulations to New Canaan resident - Annie Tu Chan, who was picked by Host Chef Plum at random.
There are still tickets available to attend the culinary event, which will be held at the Lincoln Culinary Institute in Shelton, CT (25 minutes drive from New Canaan) Start with cocktails and live music, and while enjoying hors d'oeuvres, learn about the work of Optimus Health Care and the facilities the Optimus Foundation plan to build. For over 35 years Optimus has played an important part of serving the health care needs for individuals and families in Connecticut.
Patrons will get the unique opportunity to tour the kitchens while the chef contestants cook. They can taste the portions right before their eyes and after the votes are tallied, awards will be presented to the winning chefs.
Ticket prices are available this year:
$100 TASTING TICKET - includes complimentary beer/wine, appetizers, reserved seating at a shared table, tasting dish from chefs for the table to share, food buffet, coffee and dessert.
$50 GENERAL ADMISSION - includes complimentary beer/wine, appetizers, food buffet, coffee and dessert.
This years host is one of the biggest chef personalities I have ever had the pleasure to talk to - Chef Plum from Plum-Luv-Foods. Chef Plum - who lives in Newtown, CT was recently a contestant on Cutthroat Kitchen. He has also been featured on Jamie Oliver Blog, Chopped, Guys Grocery Game and more. He is a regular on "Better CT" on WFSB, Fox CT, Food Network, Star 99.9 and the nationally syndicated show, "Better".
