Yesterday I tried out my first ever NORDIC Cryotherapy and I LOVED it! Firstly, I could not believe what Marie and her team had done to the space. You walk into HALO STUDIOS (it’s just past the entrance) and the small space is inviting, discreet and a friendly team greets you.
First up was paperwork and blood pressure taken – all ok. I was then told to strip down to underwear and put on the fluffiest robe I had ever wrapped myself in. There were socks, gloves and 2 pairs of slippers to also put on. Naturally I opted for the super childish Abominable Snowman ones (I do love a sense of humor).
Within seconds I walked up the steps into the giant tank, my height had already been asked and accounted for. It’s important at this stage to point out for those who suffer from claustrophobia that my head and shoulders were above the unit and I did not feel at all trapped. You also have an expert with you the entire time. And with that the swirling vaporized nitrogen surrounded my body. Yes, it was cold but it was tolerable and I moved around for the 3-minutes chatting easily and receiving a reassuring count down.
