Grace Farms Foundation announces second anniversary celebration & benefit to eradicate modern day slavery

Grace Farms Foundation announces its second anniversary celebration benefiting a first-of-its kind global campaign to help eradicate modern day slavery. Entitled “Unchain” and created in partnership with WPP agencies Geometry Global, J. Walter Thompson, as well as Shazam and Thomson Reuters Foundation, the campaign is a collaboration between public, private and individual efforts to disrupt the many facets of modern slavery by generating unprecedented public awareness and engagement activism.

The benefit will be held on October 14, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Grace Farms. Four-time Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter and philanthropist India. Arie, a former U.S. ambassador for UNICEF and supporter of the Half the Sky Movement to eradicate the oppression of women worldwide, will headline this evening.

The Unchain campaign is expected to launch in early 2019. The idea was conceived at Grace Farms last summer, during a workshop hosted in collaboration with United Nations University, after which Grace Farms Foundation, employing leading anti-trafficking experts, and Geometry Global and Walter J. Thompson of WPP, one of the world’s largest media and advertising agencies, decided to leverage their expertise and implement a global media strategy to raise awareness and activism to combat modern day slavery.

“As we celebrate our second anniversary this October, we look far into the future to a world where everyone is truly free and slavery is a thing of the past,” said Sharon Prince, President and Chair of Grace Farms Foundation. “Together with the help of forward-thinking industry leaders such as WPP agencies Geometry Global, J. Walter Thompson, as well as Shazam, we will target all forms of modern day slavery and build a platform that brings communities together to advance good in the world.”

Guests to the Unchain Benefit will have the opportunity to savor locally-sourced food, enjoy the surrounding landscape during peak fall foliage, and encounter Shazam augmented-reality experiences that shed light on those affected by this crime. During this evening, Unchain Launch Committee Co-Chairs Jay Fielden, Editor-in-Chief, Esquire and Pete Hunsinger, Chief Marketing Officer of Everyone’s Earth and former Condé Nast Publisher will welcome Amb. Luis C.deBaca, former United States Ambassadorat Large to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons; Rich Riley, CEO of Shazam; Carl Preller, Chief Performarnce Officer at Geometry Global North America and Krishna Patel, Justice Initiative Director and General Counsel at Grace Farms Foundation.

Limited performance-only tickets to the Unchain Concert from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. are available for purchase. For tickets or more information, visit gracefarms.org/unchain or contact Megan Mones at: megan@gracefarmsfoundation.org.
